Had this Haiku published recently, if you can strictly call it that, since the true Japanese form is mono-syllabic and tends to focus on the natural world, but I still like the simplicity of the form, having to say everything in a few lines I think can sometimes be much more effective than a long poem that can forget what its initial purpose actually was. Although I think that's down to my impatience rather than a fault with long prose poetry. I like the short sharp realisation rather than a meandering and slow epiphany. But that's just my opinion, a taste that I savour but others might find bitter and unappetising. OK so here is the poem after all that convolution. A simple poem about simple things written simply.

HEADS OR TAILS

We dream at the well
while the pennies sit rusting
waiting for the wish.
